原盘画质属实惨不忍睹,制作方使用了一种极为少见的画面风格,向我们充分展示了什么叫高亮朦胧美。全片对比度非常诡异,多数场景亮到纯白暗到纯黑,线条黑度深浅不一,断线到处都是,画面质量不可名状。我们一度以为片源存在亮度越界问题,但测试后发现亮度均在正常区间内,换言之这个诡异的画风是故意为之。本片线条还有锯齿问题,在画风断线的加持下格外突出,常规抗锯齿手段对此基本就是聊胜于无,我们别无选择,只能先对线条进行适度加深,随后使用常规抗锯齿,在改善观感的同时尽量保留画风。至于平面,亮场噪点稀缺,暗场情况尚可,总体没什么色带,我们只做了轻微的降噪和去色带。本片 ED 部分为手绘风格,丰富的细节和高强度的动态画面远不是原盘码率所能承受的,我们对此部分做了单独处理,主要是自适应去色块和降噪,提升观感控制码率。
The source quality is truly appalling, as the production team opted for an exceedingly rare visual style, fully showcasing what is known as high-brightness hazy beauty. The overall contrast of the entire film is incredibly peculiar, with most scenes ranging from pure white to pitch black. The variation in the darkness of lines is inconsistent, and there are dashed-lines everywhere, making the overall image quality indescribable. Initially, we suspected that the source might have issues with luma overflow, but after testing, we found that the luma was within limited range. In other words, this peculiar artistic style was intentional. The lines in this film also suffer from aliasing issues, which are particularly pronounced under the influence of the dashed-lines. Conventional anti-aliasing methods proved to be almost ineffective in addressing this issue. With limited options, we chose to moderately darken the lines first and then apply standard anti-aliasing. This approach aimed to improve the overall visual experience while attempting to retain the unique artistic style. As for the flat areas, there is a scarcity of noise in bright areas, and the conditions of dark areas are acceptable. Overall, there are not many color banding issues. We performed subtle denoising and de-banding to enhance the flat areas. In the case of the ED section, which features a hand-drawn style, the rich details and high-intensity dynamic scenes exceeded the bitrate capabilities of the source disk. We addressed this by applying specific treatments, including adaptive de-blocking and denoising, to enhance the visual experience and control the bitrate.
